2022 Nissan Frontier

What's New for the 2022 Nissan Frontier?

A full set of changes are in store for the Nissan Frontier in 2022, which is expected to go on sale this summer. This year, the Nissan Frontier gets an entirely new look inside and out. The frame is longer and wider, which gives the truck more stability and creates more interior space. The Nissan Frontier has more technology and safety options than ever before, including an intelligent panoramic camera designed to help you safely and confidently navigate rugged trails.

The Frontier comes with the same three trims that it had in 2021, but this year you can also get a new Pro-4X that has the looks and performance credentials required to handle all your off-road adventures. Some features are now standard on all 2022 Frontier trim levels, including Nissan's NASA-inspired seats called Zero Gravity and trailer control technology.

Which Features Are Available for 2022?

The first of four trim levels for the Nissan Frontier in 2022 is the S, the base trim level offered in 2021. This year's S sees some updates with the addition of ultra-comfortable and supportive Zero Gravity seats. Trailer Sway Control is a safety feature that is now included across the board for all four trim levels. The base trim offers cloth upholstery for its seats, and it has more infotainment technology, including front-row USB charging ports.

The S has an infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while you can get wireless versions of both, a larger nine-inch touchscreen, and more USB ports with the SV trim that follows. The Nissan's sound quality also improves in 2022 with the option to get a Fender audio system with the SV and third trim, which is the Pro-X. More off-road amenities come with the Pro-4X, which has skid plates, standard four-wheel drive, and an off-road suspension system.

Featuring Great Performance

The Nissan Frontier carries over its V-6 engine from 2021 with a sound power output of 310 HP. The Nissan has a nine-speed transmission this year. Four-wheel drive is standard on the new Pro-4X trim level and offered on the other three, which otherwise get rear-wheel drive. The Nissan tows 6,720 pounds and most and has a 1,610-pound payload.

Nissan Frontier Safety Features

Safety is a priority for the 2022 Frontier, which adds airbags for all occupants along with the trailer sway control system. Along with the panoramic trail camera, you can get Nissan's sophisticated Safety Shield 360 package for any trim.
