What's New For the 2020 Nissan Murano?

Since the Nissan Murano received a design refresh in 2019, it does not get sweeping changes for the 2020 model year. You will find some changes across the lineup, which are mostly minor feature amendments based on trim. Aside from a small price increase, the base model of the Nissan Murano in 2020 carries over primarily the same as 2019. The second-level trim and up, however, get more standard safety amenities this year.

Starting with the second trim, you now get a full suite of driver-assist safety tools through the Safety Shield 360 package. This package includes blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and more. You can add those features on the base trim, too. Some additional features are added to the higher-level trims. This includes now-standard heated side mirrors for the SV. It also gets sonar-operated parking sensors in the back.

The SL trim adds traffic-sign detection to its suite of standard safety aids. The Platinum trim and its variants get an updated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Platinum is also offered in a Super Black shade this year.

Which Trims & Features are Available in 2020?

While all trims get some changes, you still have a basic lineup of four trims to choose from. The base-level Murano, called the S, has a generous list of standard amenities and some optional features. Everyone will appreciate the inclusion of a visible, user-friendly eight-inch color display screen in the base model. This year, the infotainment system includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Two USB charging ports, including a USB-C charging port in the back row, are standard as well.

The base model gets some standard safety features even without the Safety Shield 360 package, including automatic emergency braking. Its exterior features LED lights in front and 18-inch wheels. Nissan's Safety Shield 360 is a standard feature on the SV, which is the next trim. This trim adds more creature comforts, including power-operated front seats and a leather steering wheel. Its roof is accentuated with black roof rails.

The SL, which follows the SV, upgrades to leather upholstery for a more upscale appearance. It also gets a standard heated steering wheel, a Bose sound system, and navigation with its infotainment system. This trim also adds a hands-free liftgate and ambient lighting inside. Its external changes include bold 20-inch wheels and silver roof rails. The lineup culminates with the Platinum, which gets premium leather seats, climate-controlled front seats, a panoramic moonroof, and an upgraded leather steering wheel.
