Specs at a Glance

The Nissan Murano is a solid choice in the class of midsize SUVs. The Murano offers some unique features not found in its competitors, including a comfortable and forward-thinking cabin equipped with Zero Gravity seats, uniquely designed with inspiration from NASA.

The Murano also has Nissan's own exclusive all-wheel drive system that is available starting with the base trim, called the S, to help you get to the places you want to go regardless of the weather. The Nissan Murano offers the same lineup in 2021 with a few notable changes. This year, the Murano is safer across the board with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 package starting with the S trim. If you're looking for more conveniences and luxuries, the SL trim is an equally appealing choice.

Performance

Although they vary in style and amenities, the S and SL trims of the 2021 Nissan Murano get the same engine and drivetrain. They both have a six-cylinder engine beneath the hood with a 3.5L displacement and 24 valves. With this engine, both vehicles achieve a power output of 260 HP at a maximum of 6,000 RPM. The engine's top torque output is 240 LB-FT at up to 4,400 RPM. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain for both the S and SL trims, but you can also choose to get all-wheel drive for better performance when conditions are less than ideal. An automatic transmission comes with both Murano trims.

Appearance

The S has 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while you'll get larger 20-inch wheels with the same finish if you select the SL. Rain-sensing windshield wipers are included with the S and SL trim levels. LED headlights come with the S as a standard amenity and complimentary LED daytime running lights for added safety and visibility. The SL also adds on LED fog lights. The SL trim has silver roof rails for a sportier appearance and greater carrying capacity. Chrome door handles add to its intriguing exterior appearance. Heated mirrors are also standard with the SL.

Features

At the entry-level, the Nissan Murano S has a healthy list of features, including an eight-inch infotainment system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included, and you can sync your smartphone to Nissan's infotainment system to play music, get directions, and more. The SL adds some additional amenities, including leather seats and a Bose sound system. Both get Nissan's Safety Shield 360 package with automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, and blind-spot monitoring.
