New 2017 Armada Earns an Autotrader ‘Must Test Drive Award’

2017 Nissan Armada

Fresh off of a one year hiatus, the latest iteration of the Armada is having a great year back, earning a nod from one of the most respected names in the automotive industry. Autotrader chose the best-selling SUV as one of its 2017 Must Test Drive Award winners, a prestigious title that few vehicles have the honor of receiving.

"The redesigned Armada surprised Autotrader editors by just how well it drives and how nimbly it handles for being such a large vehicle, and combined with its high-quality interior materials, features and off-road abilities, the Armada 'squarely competes with the best' in the class,” said the Autotrader staff.

The Armada’s top-notch ride experience comes from its range of under-the-hood updates, including its new 5.6-liter V8 engine that offers a best-in-class 390 horsepower* plus 394 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled through a seven-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive with low-range gearing. Standard equipment like hill start assist, tow mode and a limited-slip differential add even more muscle, giving the SUV the off-road capability that the Autotrader staff loved.

Take the Armada out for a spin around Bell Road and you’re likely to fall in love with the comfortable, convenience-packed cabin. On the entry-level SV trim, the SUV offers seating for eight passengers plus rear privacy glass, a reclining second-row bench, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, built-in navigation, an 8-inch touchscreen media player and, last but not least, a 13-speaker Bose sound system. Climbing up to one of the other two trims adds even more premium amenities, from driver seat memory and leather seating (SL) to a heated second row and a rear dual-screen entertainment system.
