You may remember our story about video games and racecar driving, in which we cited Jann Mardenborough's career. His path into the racecar driving profession was unique - transitioning from a video-game console to real-life racetracks - but he's proving that he's got what it takes to succeed. Hear from the up-and-comer as he talks to NISMO.TV behind the scenes at Sebring, where he made his U.S. racing debut.

In the video below, Mardenborough discusses how he prepared for 12 Hours of Sebring, one of the most intense endurance races in the world. The budding racer teamed up with Muscle Milk Pickett Racing for the second round of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, which took place mid March.

About Jann Mardenborough

Mardenborough's racing career began on a PlayStation, rather than go karts, a story that's become more and more common since Gran Turismo Academy's online competitions were created. When Mardenborough beat 90,000 other gamers through the virtual contest in 2011, he received a chance to train with Nissan in real life and this led to an interesting new vocation for the promising young star. Since then, he has placed well in several races and just recently made his U.S. racing debut at 12 Hours of Sebring, a competition that many of his colleagues would consider a bucket-list event. Peoria Nissan looks forward to seeing more of Mardenborough and we wish him the best in his career.
