Every year on Independence Day, the Peoria Sports Complex holds an amazing fireworks display and fun night of entertainment with live performances on several stages, a kids' activity area, concessions and other family friendly activities. On Friday, July 4, 2014, the tradition continues, so make sure you mark your calendars and get the family ready for an illuminating evening of all-American fun!

Friday, July 4, 2014 - 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. (weather permitting)
Peoria Sports Complex
16101 N. 83rd Ave

In addition to the festivities mentioned above, there will be a Sonic Footlong Hot Dog Eating Contest for those who are up to the challenge and a Water Zone where you and your kids will have a blast taking turns on exciting water slides. The main highlight of the event, however, is the fantastic light show that's scheduled to take place at 9:15 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m., so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy all the other activities taking place. Just remember, if you want to get a good spot for the fireworks display, you should claim a location early.

Visitors will need to bring their own blankets and/or lawn chairs to view the fireworks. You may even bring your own food (though concessions are available), but please note that glass containers, alcohol, grills, bicycles and canopies/umbrellas are prohibited.

Admission is only $5 and children 12 and under can enter at no charge. Parking is also free.
