Peoria Nissan was proud to participate in the 2014 Bike Safety Rodeo on Saturday, Jan. 18. We gave away two children's bikes and were happy to assist the Peoria Police Department with an event that teaches children the importance of staying active and being safe.
At the event, kids ages 5-12 had fun navigating through an obstacle course, where they practiced their bike skills in a safe and supervised environment. Free kids' helmets were available, several bikes were raffled off, and complimentary food and drinks were available for all attendees.
This year, the Bike Safety Rodeo was held at the Centennial Plaza in Peoria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorcycle officers were onsite teaching kids great bike safety rules, while highlighting the importance of always wearing a helmet. Minor bike repairs were performed for free and children could also watch interesting police demonstrations or play in bounce houses. For parents, there were several raffles to participate in.
The Bike Safety Rodeo is a free annual event where children in the west Valley can receive bicycle helmets at no cost and instruction from trusted members of our local police department. Peoria Nissan is always happy to participate in activities that emphasize child safety and education, and can't wait to attend this event again next year!
