Would you build an EV-friendly city?
For fans of the popular SimCity computer and console video game series by Electronic Arts (EA), a fun new feature is offered in the latest edition of the already addicting game. Players now have the ability to make their cities more environmentally friendly by adding EV charging stations, which in turn populates the streets with Nissan LEAFs.
If the city of your imagination would be an eco-friendly one, this new feature will enable you to create a sustainable mobile society - in digital form. You may even be inspired to showcase your new EV-friendly city and possibly have it displayed on the SimCity Facebook page!
Players can install up to five Nissan-branded charging stations anywhere in their cities, at no charge. Doing this sends a wave of "happiness" across the city, while bringing "EV smiles" to the faces of the Sims as they drive around town in electric vehicles. The new addition to EA's city-building simulation also stays true to reality, offering accurate data regarding the amount of kilowatt's being used in any region of a SimCity. Plus, on Nissan's website players can use a calculator to find out how LEAF "happiness" actually translates when converted into real-life savings.
Nissan and EA's collaboration has resulted in the most personalized and immersive series of the city-building strategy game yet, while also promoting the real-life need for electric vehicle growth and EV infrastructure development in the U.S. Watch the video below to see how Nissan LEAFs and EV charging stations were integrated into the latest version of SimCity.
